On a comparison, films made on the life of cops often had lukewarm interest from the masses in Telugu when compared to other languages. Kodi Ramakrishna’s ‘Ankusham’ starring Rajasekhar did have a stupendous response and sparked a wave among film goers.
Lastly Kamal Haasan’s ‘Raghavan’ and Venkatesh’s ‘Gharshana’, both directed by Gautham Menon made an average run at the box office. At present, a big list of police stories is awaiting to hit the Tollywood screens.
Pawan Kalyan is a police officer in ‘Puli’ directed by SJ Suryah, Jagapathi Babu is the encounter specialist in ‘Siddham’ made by JD Chakravarthy and last but not least, the ‘Ankusham’ cop, Dr. Rajasekhar returns with ‘Satyameva Jayathe’ this time directed by Jeevitha.
‘Siddham’ is getting ready to be out on Jagapathi Babu’s birthday 12th February. The very next day, Rajasekhar’s ‘Satyameva Jayathe’ releases on 13th February. The competition at the box office is expected to go high for two anticipated films are getting released.
After ‘Homam’, expectations are large on ‘Siddham’ based on JD’s realistic portrayal of the underworld. On par with the competitors, Rajasekhar’s ‘Satyameva Jayathe’ based on the Hindi hit ‘Khaki’ is also a potentially promising film. With just a day’s difference in the release dates, these films are sure to have a neck to neck competition and for us, it’s a short wait to see the winner.
