The ace director Surender Reddy's latest flick 'Kick' with Mass Masala Hero Ravi Teja and
Andhala Khazana Ileana in the lead roles is going to shoot major part of the film in
Malaysia. The director initially considered USA to be the backdrop and even ran a talent
hunt for local actors. Later on, the unit tried their luck in Europe and finally zeroed on
to Malaysia. Malaysia has become favourite destination abroad for foreign-backdrop films
made in Telugu these days. Even the much awaited films of 2009 Mitrudu, Komaram Puli, Billa
and many more were shot in Malaysia recently.

After his recent successes, directors are casting him not for just one role in their films, but multiple roles. In his recent release 'Arundhati', which has been termed as the biggest hit of telugu cinema, he had reincarnation role. While in his soon to be released film 'DHUNDTE REH JAAOGE', he plays 11 characters. When contacted in Dubai, where he is shooting for his 1st international film - 'City of Life', wherein again he plays a double role, he said "Its great to be getting such appreciation from India and abroad. Suddenly I am flooded with offers to play multiple roles and its fun to do that because you get to play many more characters and every character has multiple shades. So, its like doing 3 -4 films in the same film. It does gets a little tiring but when you see the film, its worth the effort. In 'Dhundte Reh Jaaoge', I play 11 characters of all different genres and I had to keep doing voice modulations during dubbing as they all needed to have different voices. But touchwood 2009, is turning out to be a great year for me." Wishing him all the luck and surely audiences will not only have a handful but a mouthful of Sonu this year.

Mahesh babu's ‘Varudu’ confirmed for March 10

Mahesh Babu’s next might be the most number of times postponed project in Tollywood but reliable sources now say that the film will surely go to the floors this time on March 10th.

Director Trivikram Srinivas will be making this tentatively titled film ‘Varudu’ produced by Singanamala Ramesh Babu on Kanakaratna Movies banner. Media repeatedly reported the start dates but so far it didn’t commence for a number of reaons.

The date is now out and the filming will begin in the locales of Rajasthan. The crew of ‘Varudu’ will start off from Hyderabad on March 1st to make necessary arrangements in Rajasthan for the shooting.

The female lead will be played by Anushka which was a earlier reserved for Parvathi Melton.

The museum which is considered as the temple of shoe design in the whole world is dedicated to the most acclaimed shoe designer Salvatore Ferrangamo.

With this achievement Priyanka gets her name inscribed in the history as the first Indian to have got an invitation from the family of Mr. Ferrangamo, the person who is also known as the “Shoe Maker Of The Stars”.

The foot impression of the dusky Indian beauty will be made with either wood or metal and exhibited in the museum.

The museum other than having some of the most exquisite shoe designs of the world also houses several sketches and designs of Salvatore Ferragamo.

The chance for a person’s foot to be given this honour in this particular old exhibition centre is no ordinary thing as it has the foot impressions of legendry film stars like Sophia Loren, Madonna, Drew Barrymore, Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn among others.

Tamanna plays lead in ‘Ananda Tandavam’

The shooting of ‘Ananda Tandavam’ directed by Gandhi Krishna , a protégé of Shankar ,
produced by V Ravichandran on the banner of Oscar Filmswith Tamanna in the lead.

Siddhartha is making his debut as hero through the movie, while Rukmini is playing another
heroine. The film is being made simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu languages, while SVR
Media is bringing out the Telugu version.

Speaking on the occasion, Ravichandran says, ‘Sujata, who penned the story for a blockbuster
like ‘Aparichitudu’, gave the story for this film too. In fact, it was a novel and we gave it a shape on celluloid.

The film would be an eye-opener for all those youth who wants to settle abroad. It has
several elements that could attract youth, families, class and mass audiences. GV Prakash
scored music and all the songs would remain a highlight both audio and in visual media. We
shot the film for about 90 days in the US, 50 days in Kulu-Malali, Kodaicanal and Ooty.

We have plans to release the film as a Ugadi gift. However, the audio would be in the market

Aishwarya plays thief in Pink Panther 2

Aishwarya Rai played a cameo in Steve Martin’s Pink Panther 2 and she is said to have played
the role of a thief who steals the Pink Panther diamond.

Aishwarya plays the role of Sonia Solandres, a criminology expert, in the film. She is part
of the team of detectives who are trying to find the Pink Panther diamond. In the end,
Inspector Clouseau figures out that Sonia is the real culprit and no criminology expert.
The climax of the film has a fight scene involving Aishwarya. Pink Panther 2 is releasing in
India on February 27.

AR Rahman to get honorary doctorate

Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) decided to award D. Lit (Honoris Causa) on music maestro
A.R. Rahman, who created history by becoming the first Indian to win two Oscars.

The decision to confer the honorary doctorate has been taken by the AMU executive council.
The university has also decided to confer the honorary doctorate to Ratan Tata, chairman of
the Tata Group, professor M.S. Swaminathan, father of green revolution and noted Urdu writer
professor Gopichand Narang.

Kalavaramaye Madilo' the latest musical film starring Biryani boy Kamal Kamaraju and
'Colours' Swathi in the lead roles and it is finishing shoot rapidly. The flick is directed

Review

A local don Yadagiri (Kota) loses his son to his rival Rami Reddy. Yadagiri vows to kill Rami Reddy’s son in 16 days – on the day of his son’s Karmakanda as per their family’s ritual. He hires several professional killers but Rami Reddy eliminates all. On other hand, Yadagiri’s men bring Gutti Murthy (Aravind) is freshly graduated youngster and searches for a job mistaking him Subramanyam who owes them money. Murthy impresses Yadagiri and gives him an idea how to kill Rami Reddy’s son. So Yadagiri entrusts the killing job on him. While he is heading to his home, Rami Reddy’s men kidnap him and bury him in an isolated place. But he luckily escapes from it and lands in his apartment where he meets Angel (Charmee), a loner who lives in empty flats while the owners are away. They bond well and eventually marry each other. The rest of the movie is how Murthy escapes from the dons after 16 days.

Artists Performance:

Charmee plays the role of a loner who imitates all the heroes in Telugu. Her act of imitating is irritating at most times. Her glam act in two songs is not that sizzling, as it is nothing compared to what she had done in earlier movies. Newcomer Aravind is perfect to the role of an innocent guy. His dialogue delivery (dubbed voice?) is similar to A.M.Ravi Krishna. The film revolves around him and he carries it off well. Senior actor Kota as local mafia leader does his best. Cinematography is excellent. Some of the shots composition by debutant director Prabhu Solomon deserve praise. He seems to have talent in ‘executing the movie in stylish way’ but he has poor script sense. Or seems so. Music is good. Two songs especially the first night number is lilting.

Movie Analysis:

16 Days movie concept is taken from Hollywood thriller - Lucky Number Slevin. The original Hollywood thriller is a revenge drama but the debutant director Prabhu Solomon has removed the revenge aspect and weaved his own story which is nothing but hotchpotch. While the chacterisation of heroine Charmee’s is copied from Korean movie - 3 Iron. The film is engaging in bits and spurts. But after a few scenes it tends to get monotonous and drags on and on. Although it starts off well, the director loses focus in the mid-way by concentrating on silly aspects of bonding between hero Aravind and heroine Charmee and also the unnecessary sub story of Ramireddy’s son indulging silly games. Such sub plots have distracted the core story. On the whole the movie seems okay in some scenes but it gets boring towards the climax.

Script is filled with full of loopholes and logic less scenes. It could have been better the director focused on main plot line - an innocent guy caught in two mafia dons and come out as winner.

Those who expect the film would be another good thriller or some steamy scenes from Charmee would be in major disappointment. 16 Days is more focused on the film’s hero Aravind than the Charmee. In fact she doesn’t have much role in it.

Final Analysis:

16 Days is copied from Hollywood movie Lucky Number Slevin but the execution in the second half goes haywire. The movie is good in bits but on the whole is not that interesting. Concept is okay but somewhere down the movie, the director loses its focus.

Ram Charan Tej's Magadheera stunt master Haynes injured

The film Magadheera starring Ram Charan and Kajal Agarwal is now in the final stages of shooting. The stunt master for the film Peter Haynes was injured while rehearsing some difficult stunt scene for the film.

He was immediately rushed to the Kamineni hospital which referred him to the KIMS hospital. He is now undergoing treatment there.
