Tollywood awaits a big battle in May

It has not been a good time for Telugu film industry, during the first quarter of 2008, barring a decent run for a couple of films. Now four biggies are all set for big releases in May, the month considered the harbinger of the summer dhamaka.

In all a business of nearly Rs. 75 Crores is involved. On May Day (May 1st), Allu Arjun-Sheela starrer Parugu is releasing big worldwide. Directed by Bhaskar (of Bommarillu fame) and produced by Dil Raju is releasing after a gap of 15 months in Allu Arjun's career (after Desamuduru in Jan 2007).

It is closely followed by Kantri, NTR's starrer on May 7th, releasing with nearly 400 prints. The release date is also officially announced by its producer Ashwini Dutt.

Then there is the much hyped, Prabhas's film Bujjigaadu Made In Chennai which will be hitting screens on May 16th. At the peak of the summer season, Nandamuri Balakrishna's bio-periodic film Pandurangadu in the direction of ace K. Raghavendra Rao is releasing on May 30th.

Tollywood business circles hope that these four big-budget films will bring a back cheer to the industry.
