This may be for the first time in the recent years that a leading lady of a big time box office dud has bagged a best actress nomination in an international film festival.
Now Deepika Padukone can think that ‘Chandni Chowk To China’ has at least given her some good exposure in the Hong Kong and her hard work has not gone waste.
Her performance in the flick has earned her the honour of being the first Indian actress to be in the fray for the best actress award at the 33rd Hong Kong International Film Festival.
The Film Festival to be held from March 22 to April 13 will screen 300 films from 50 countries.
A.R.Rahman has also got a nominated for his compositions in ‘Jodhaa Akbar’.
An exited Deepika said “Considering the fact that the film fared so badly, it feels great to be noticed and nominated at an international level. I am privileged. The Chinese look combined with my martial arts training may have got me the nomination. Whatever it is, I am very happy”.
