Kamal Haasan’s historical extravaganza ‘Marma Yogi’ has been shelved due to fiscal constraints. This is not the first time as earlier ‘Marudhanayagam’ of Kamal’s was curbed to the same fate. The movie has a cast coup including Shreya, Trisha, Hema Malini and also Victory Venkatesh. Pyramid Saimira and Rajkamal Films were to produce this venture jointly. Kamal was to enact and direct the movie himself. Grapevine is Pyramid Saimira has been reportedly backed off from this mega budgeted project as they incurred a heavy loss from ‘Kathanayakudu’. They are close-minded to step into one more experimental film. Actress Trisha has now given her dates to the Selvaraghavan’s and Gautam Menon’s movies. Shriya is also out and she committed herself with Vishal’s home production. Even Kamal Haasan was seen with a trimmed beard that he had grown earlier for this movie. Reports are clear ‘Marmayogi’ is out of the box for now. Yet, sources close to the actor denies such news and says that the movie has been temporarily postponed and not completely shelved. ‘Thalaivan Irukiran’ is the new movie that is being said to be Kamal’s next. The actor is going to enact and direct this movie. The star cast is on the go and as of now Venkatesh, Rishi Kapoor and Mohan Lal is being considered. Gemini Film Circuit is to produce and Sun Networks is in a working agreement with this movie. AR Rahman will compose music and the movie is pipelined to go to floors from January 2009. An official report will be released by Gemini Film Circuit once the cast and fiscal terms are finalized. |
