NEW DELHI: Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi's bid for Election Commission's nod for his newly-launched political outfit "Praja Rajyam" appears to have run into trouble as someone else has already sought registration of his party of the same name.
A resident of Cuddapah district in Andhra Pradesh has already filed an application before the Election Commission seeking to register his party in the same name.
EC sources said the Cuddapah resident has filed his application three or four months ago and the EC has also processed his application. The Commission also sent a reply to him.
Sources said the Commission was yet to examine the application of the megastar who moved the Commission on August 26 to register his new political outfit as Praja Rajyam.
"The Commission will take another a week to process the application of Chiranjeevi," the sources said.
The cine star announced the name of his political party at a mammoth public rally in the temple town of Tirupati.
