Slumdog Millionaire child artists get flats


The child artistes, Azharuddin Ismail Shaikh Usman and Rubina Rafiq Asghar Ali Qureshi, who
acted as the youngest version of the lead characters in the 8-Oscars winning film Slumdog
Millionaire, were presented a flat each by the Maharashtra government.

Chief Minister Ashok Chavan announced gifting the two a flat each from the chief minister’s
quota.Rubina’s father Rafiq is a casual carpenter while Azharuddin’s father Ismail trades in old
furniture. They presently live in the slum where Slumdog Millionaire was filmed.
